Employee programs
We want to inspire people to take action to change the world, and that includes our employees. We offer programs that encourage our people to connect with colleagues who share their passions and get involved in their broader community. It’s part of how we work to nurture a caring and inclusive work environment.

Our employee resource groups (ERGs) are employee-run supportive communities that offer ways for people to gain a sense of belonging, build relationships, and develop their career, as well as spark change in our internal culture and practices. We currently support 13 ERGs, including Working Parents & Caregivers, Out for Good & Allies, and the Black Philanthropic Partnership. -
We offer generous 3:1 donation matching when our employees give to charitable organizations—up to $30,000 in matching funds per employee per year. We also make matching donations for their volunteer hours. -
Our former employees—spread across nearly 40 countries—are lifetime members of the Gates Foundation community. They go on to do extraordinary things, often continuing to work on the issues we care about. Our Alumni Network offers them ways to stay connected in meaningful ways, including through networking meetups, special events with guest speakers, and affinity groups.
