Silpa Sundaram

Deputy Director, Strategy, Planning, and Management

Silpa Sundaram leads strategy, planning, and operations for the Integrated Development team, where she previously served as a senior program officer working on investments in chemistry, manufacturing, and controls (CMC). In the latter role, she spearheaded the creation and management of the team’s low-cost manufacturing CMC strategy, which included the establishment of the Medicines for All Institute, which has enabled US$80 million in annual savings in medication production costs over five years through innovative low-cost manufacturing strategies. She joined the foundation in 2017.

Silpa’s two decades of experience across health care, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical industries includes working as an engagement manager at Camber Collective, where she provided strategic consulting to enhance CMC capabilities for global partners. Earlier, she worked at PRTM Consulting, where she led companywide product development best practices for medical device and pharmaceutical firms, resulting in multimillion-dollar savings and significant reductions in product development cycle times.

Silpa has a Master of Science in biotechnology from Northwestern University and a Design for Six Sigma Black Belt.
