Challenge for Change: A partnership with the Misk Foundation

In 2024, the Misk Foundation and the Gates Foundation launched the Challenge for Change, a youth program which aims to develop future leaders of nonprofit and social impact initiatives in Saudi Arabia. The program was launched at the Misk Global Forum and is part of an expanded partnership between the foundation and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Challenge for Change will provide participants with access to training, mentorship, and an opportunity to compete for grant funding to create and scale up nonprofit ventures in Saudi Arabia. The program focuses on improving the lives of the most vulnerable people globally, by helping participating nonprofits and social impact initiatives develop innovative solutions in the areas of technology, health and well-being, and the environment. Through the program, up to US$2.5 million in grant funding will be awarded to help incubate solutions developed by participating teams. The Challenge for Change also aims to foster a new generation of Saudi leaders in philanthropy, social impact, and international development, aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals to increase participation in the nonprofit sector.

The Misk Foundation is a nonprofit organization established by His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz in 2011 that supports the development and advancement of Saudi youth.
