This year's letter gives concrete examples of the different kinds of collaborations we enter. We hope that telling these stories will help people understand how we fit into the dynamic ecosystem of Indian innovation. We also hope they convey a sense of the way partners and grantees organize creatively around challenges to make change happen. Finally, we hope that they make it clear how much exciting work is happening in India to make millions of people's lives better.
For every young person around the world, adolescence is a formative period in their life that is powerfully shaped by their health, education and social surroundings in which they grow up. As we have all experienced ourselves, adolescents have many ambitions: This could include completing their education, pursuing careers, and making their mark on the world by contributing to their communities and societies. An unplanned pregnancy puts all that at risk. Think about how much of an individual’s life trajectory—both their health—and their well-being, can be derailed by an unplanned pregnancy.
