Director, Maternal, Newborn, Child Nutrition & Health

Dr. Rasa Izadnegahdar leads the Maternal, Newborn, Child Nutrition and Health portfolio within the Gender Equality Division. He previously led the treatment initiative of the Pneumonia and Enteric and Diarrheal Disease program strategy teams.

Prior to joining the foundation in 2013, Rasa was based in Zambia where he oversaw the case enrollment component of a large pneumonia etiology study, as well as several other projects assessing approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of common childhood illnesses. He has worked for several non-governmental organizations focused on improving the delivery of care to children in Mali, Burkina Faso, and Cambodia.

Rasa is a pediatrician and public health professional by training. He continues to engage with trainees at Seattle Children’s Hospital.
