Christabell Makokha
Christabell Makokha oversees strategy, financial planning, business operations, and impact measurement for the foundation’s Ethiopia and Nigeria teams. She is based in the Ethiopia office in Addis Ababa.
Christabell is a seasoned strategist and leader with over a decade of experience in global development. She is passionate about inclusive development and has dedicated her career to social equity, championing innovative and evidence-driven strategies and initiatives that empower traditionally underserved groups—especially women, youth, and rural communities.
Drawing on her expertise in strategy development, design thinking, program implementation, data analysis, and impact measurement, Christabell has led high-impact initiatives across organizations including CARE International, Mercy Corps, and Dalberg Advisors. She serves on the board of Legado and the advisory board of aGILE, Oxfam’s innovation lab.
Christabell has a master’s degree in global business administration from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and dual A.B. and B.E. degrees in bioengineering and biomedical engineering from the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in business administration.
