Charlotte Beall

Deputy Director, Discovery Center

Charlotte Beall leads a team that is responsible for all operational, content, program direction, and strategy for the foundation’s Discovery Center. The Discovery Center is a physical space and online experience that serves to educate, inspire, and motivate local and global awareness and action, working toward a world where all people are empowered to create positive change.

Before joining the foundation in 2011, Charlotte had her own exhibit development and design business, focusing on concept development, project management, and curation. Before that, she spent 17 years at Seattle Children’s Museum as director of exhibits and education, which allowed her to conceptualize, develop, and implement interactive hands-on exhibits and educational programs.

Charlotte believes in the importance of informal learning environments and has envisioned and implemented immersive environments and activities for thousands of people of all ages. She has developed a multitude of community partnerships with cultural, artistic, and social service organizations. She served on the Council for Children’s Museums for three years and was a Map 1 reviewer and an Institute of Museum and Library Services grant reviewer for museums.

Charlotte served in the Peace Corps in Sierra Leone and graduated from the University of Vermont with a B.S. in early childhood and human development.
