to make a detailed clinical and epidemiological description of the Typhoid fever epidemic in Blantyre, Malawi, including the association between Typhoid and HIV, morbidity including “surgical” disease (perforation and hemorrhage), mortality and risk factors for long-term carriage and to perform whole-genome sequencing on the bacterial isolates and model the transmission of the epidemic
