Purpose
To enable accelerated research and development for new diagnostic tools that are suitable for use at the point-of-care (POC) in resource-limited endemic countries and can serve to diagnose patients who are currently difficult to diagnose (i.e. patients who cannot produce sputum) and treat (i.e. patients who have drug-resistant TB) in addition to all other patients with TB. With the development of treatment monitoring tools this project will also aid TB drug development.
