To hold an international summit in May 2015 for nutrition scientists and developing country program implementers, to encourage dialogue and collaboration for the purpose of improving preconception and maternal nutritional status among adolescent girls and young women in developing countries, to benefit their health and the associated growth and development of future offspring linked with the “1,000 days window” from conception to two years of age.
