Overview
In recent decades, China-based organizations have achieved remarkable success in addressing health inequity and poverty. Their increasing global engagement and capacity for innovation have also bolstered its potential to spur development efforts worldwide. We aim to support China-based organizations in unlocking that potential in a way that benefits both China and the rest of the world, drawing on our global resources, networks, and expertise.
We provide financial and technical support to China-based organizations and build bridges to international cooperation to help them accelerate product, technology, and systems innovation in health, agricultural development, and poverty reduction. We also create broad new partnerships to ensure that these innovations reach vulnerable populations across China and around the world as quickly as possible. Together, we have witnessed the tremendous impact that can be made when life-saving innovations reach everyone.
We are committed to long-term collaboration with China-based organizations, and we believe that they play a crucial role in achieving our shared goal of building a fairer and healthier world.
Areas of focus

We support projects along the entire global health value chain to ensure that Chinese-based innovative technologies, products, and models can benefit more people in need. -
We work with government agencies, businesses, and research institutes in China and Africa, as well as regional and international organizations, to help African smallholder farmers improve their productivity, nutrition, and income. -
As capacity for innovation in China has expanded, China-based organizations’ commitment to being a global development partner has also grown, particularly to benefit sub-Saharan Africa. We are working to support organizations in China in this work, with a focus on health and development policy, expertise, and technologies. -
We work with the public and private sector philanthropic partners in China to build the country’s philanthropic ecosystem, encourage more charitable giving, and advance progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals.
