For me, especially in a world filled with indescribable challenges, generosity feels like the antidote to helplessness. Generosity is possibility. It’s hope.
Tuesday, November 28, 2023, is GivingTuesday. For more than a decade, the GivingTuesday team has been building a global movement that unleashes the power of radical generosity around the world. Now celebrated locally in nearly 100 countries, this holiday is not only an opportunity to lift up the power of generosity in all its forms, it’s also a time to celebrate the powerful impact of nonprofit organizations whose work is saving lives and helping people to reach their full potential every day of the year. Our foundation is proud to fund this growing movement.
Nine ways to celebrate GivingTuesday in your community:
- Learn more about GivingTuesday and show them some love on social: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X.
- Take two minutes to reflect on the last three times you experienced generosity—anything from someone making you smile, to kindness from a neighbor, to a surprise coffee from a co-worker—and then use that to inspire you this GivingTuesday.
- Discover your unique giving personality by taking this five-minute quiz. You’ll receive your personal giving profile plus personalized social impact activities.
- Donate to your favorite nonprofit organization or cause—but remember that the culture of generosity is about so much more than dollars. Think about how your time, talent, ties, and testimony can help create the world you want to leave for the next generation.
- Give your time: Do you have a couple of hours this holiday season you can dedicate to a cause you’re passionate about?
- Share your talent: Chances are, you have special skills that a community group, nonprofit, or cause in your area could really use. Don’t be shy—think about what you’re best at! Then put it to use for good.
- Connect with your ties: Who do you know? What resources do you have access to that others may not? Networks and connections can make an enormous difference to any organization or cause.
- Offer your testimony: Our voices are so often our greatest strength. How can sharing your thoughts and personal experiences help to move the needle on the most critical issues affecting our world?
