USDA Announces Agreement to Assess School Feeding Programs - Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently signed an agreement with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to assess the feasibility of implementing programs for schools to purchase food for school meals from local smallholder farmers in four Sub-Saharan African countries. The agreement was signed by Under Secretary for Farm and Foreign Agricultural Services Mark E. Keenum.
