D.C. Schools to Accelerate School Improvement Efforts to Prepare More Students for High School and College Success

Washington, D.C. -- Washington, D.C. School Superintendent Dr. Clifford Janey, along with Mayor Anthony Williams, Mayor-elect Adrian Fenty, and the D.C. Education Compact (DCEC), today announced a $4.8 million investment from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to support the District of Columbia Public Schools’ (DCPS) Master Education Plan to strengthen and accelerate efforts to ensure that all Washington DC students are prepared for the challenges of college and the workplace.
