Dan Peters leads a team that works to ensure that the foundation’s efforts in development economics are informed by strong economic and financial analysis and insights.
Dan previously served as a senior advisor to the Development Policy and Finance team. In that role, he managed the foundation’s relationships with the World Bank and other multilateral development banks and worked on policy issues related to other official financing flows, including official development assistance.
Before joining the foundation in 2017, Dan served in the U.S. Treasury Department, where he established and led the Office of Development Results and Accountability and helped U.S. policymakers monitor and evaluate the impact of US$120 billion in annual financial commitments by multilateral development banks. Earlier roles included senior advisor to the U.S. executive director at the World Bank and the director of the Africa Office at the U.S. Treasury Department. He also served as chair of the Steering Committee of the Global Agriculture and Food Security Program, a US$1.5 billion multidonor trust fund focused on improving the lives of smallholder farmers in the world’s poorest countries.
Earlier in his career, Dan worked at the U.S. State Department as a foreign service officer, with assignments in Syria, Honduras, and the Economic and Business Affairs Bureau.
