Caty Fall Sow
Caty Fall Sow leads the foundation’s policy, government relations, and partnership efforts in Africa. Based in Nairobi, Kenya, she and her team engage with governments, regional institutions, and strategic allies to advance the foundation’s policy priorities and build sustainable public and private partnerships that align with country goals. Their efforts span multiple areas of focus, including health systems; maternal, newborn, and child health; economic opportunity; agricultural transformation; digital public infrastructure; and development finance.
Caty has more than two decades of experience in advocacy, development policy, investments, and government engagement across Africa. Before joining the foundation in 2026, she served as department head for Africa and the Middle East at the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, where she managed more than 100 staff and US$4 billion in grants across 40 countries. Earlier, she spent over a decade at the United Nations Development Programme in roles across West Africa and in New York, working alongside governments, communities, and partners to shape policies, strengthen health systems, and deliver operational excellence, innovations, and sustainable results.
Caty has a bachelor’s degree in finance from HEC Montréal, Canada, and a master’s degree in health services administration from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
