Adrien de Chaisemartin leads the Foundation’s engagement with Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, and other immunization partners and initiatives. He joined the foundation in 2021 to lead a team working on COVID-19 vaccine supply during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Adrien came to the foundation from Gavi, where he served as the director for strategy, funding, and performance. In that role, he coordinated the design of the Gavi 4.0 and 5.0 strategies and led the transformation of Gavi’s engagement model with partner institutions.

Before joining Gavi in 2011, Adrien worked at McKinsey & Company in Johannesburg, South Africa, for six years. His work spanned projects on maternal, newborn, and child health in Ethiopia, HIV in Botswana, climate change and health in Tanzania, and economic development in Kenya and South Africa.

Adrien has a Master of Science degree from École Polytechnique, France, a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University, and a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University.
