Philipp Krause joined the Development Policy & Finance team in August 2016 as deputy director for Country Finance. Heleads our portfolio of work to increase and strengthen public finance in our priority countries.
Between 2012 and 2016, Philipp led the public finance team at the Overseas Development Institute. He previously worked on public finance issues for the World Bank and for Germany’s technical assistance agency GIZ, as well as Mexico’s Social Development Ministry. He has advised more than 25 governments in Latin America, Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East on strengthening public management, budgeting, and fiscal governance.
Philipp holds an MA from the University of Potsdam and a PhD from the London School of Economics. He is based in the foundation’s Washington, D.C. office where he lives with his wife and daughter.
