Does the foundation offer internships?
Yes. The foundation offers a limited number of paid summer graduate associate positions for graduate students. The program primarily targets MBA, MPH and DrPH students; however, it has also included students from MSW, MPA, MPP and medical students. During the summer, students have been placed across program and operational areas for 12 weeks having the opportunity to support substantive and meaningful work.
What are the goals of the foundation’s graduate associate program?
The program exists to provide graduate students exposure to career opportunities in the philanthropic sector as well as give them an understanding of the foundation’s work. We aim to identify individuals for whom an internship with us may have a transformative impact on their personal and professional lives. Our vision is to create and function as a social impact lever to engage with grantees, partners, and the communities we work with and inspire.
Is the foundation currently recruiting graduate associates?
No. The program has been placed on hold for a year to review past performance and redesign the program to be more effective for both participants and the foundation.
When will applications be opened again?
At this time, it is estimated the redesign process will be completed in 2021 which would allow graduate associate applications to be accepted for terms that begin in the Summer of 2022.
Are there graduate associates in the foundation’s offices outside of the US?
Yes. The foundation has graduate opportunities in our New Delhi India, Beijing China, London England, and Ethiopia Africa offices. Please note that we reserve graduate associate opportunities in our regional offices for students studying in those countries.
