Annika Berman

Deputy Director, Strategy

Annika Berman advises teams across the foundation on developing and implementing their strategies and is a leader of the central strategy team.

Previously, she led the program and strategy team for Co-Chair Melinda French Gates and advised her on key strategic questions.

Before joining the foundation in 2012, Annika worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company and as a senior intrapreneur and special project manager at Ashoka. She also served in strategy, execution, policy analysis, and delivery roles in international sustainable development, social enterprises, and the climate sector.

Early in her career, Annika taught math and environmental studies to middle and high school students in the UK.

Annika earned an MBA and a certificate in public management and social innovation from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a B.A. in economics from Yale University. She serves on the board of Climate Solutions, a Northwest-based organization working to accelerate clean energy solutions to the climate crisis.
