Sarah Z. Buhayar, deputy director, Strategy Planning and Management for the Pacific Northwest Team, oversees strategy, evaluation, operations, and finance for the Washington Education and Family Homelessness strategies, as well as the national Early Learning strategy.
Sarah’s prior roles at the foundation include leading Measurement, Learning, and Evaluation for the national K-12 Education team. She has been a grant maker in the areas of education research, teacher advocacy, and teacher development. She taught middle school math in Chicago Public Schools, and worked as a coach and curriculum manager with the Academy for Urban School Leadership (AUSL).
Sarah earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago, a master’s degree in teaching from National Louis University, and a master’s degree in business administration from the Kellogg School of Management.
