Himanshu Nagpal



Himanshu Nagpal, deputy director, Digital Health for Malaria Eradication, leads foundation’s efforts towards utilizing digital infrastructure and digital tools to eradicate malaria.

Prior to joining the global health team in 2020, Himanshu was a deputy director with the Financial Services for the Poor (FSP) team. With FSP, he directed financial inclusion work in India and led development of FSP’s emerging technologies portfolio, including establishing foundation’s strategy and investment portfolio in digital identity. Himanshu helped establish the Modular Open-Source Identity Platform (MOSIP) program and continues to be an executive committee member guiding the effort.

Prior to joining the foundation in 2015, Himanshu spent time planning new technology products at Intel, serving the underserved markets with financial services at Capital One and HSBC Bank, working as an oil field services engineer in Nigeria with Schlumberger, and developing software solutions in India with Arthur Andersen.

Himanshu holds a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and a MBA from Wharton School of Business at University of Pennsylvania.
