New Chief Human Resources OfficerJoins Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
SEATTLE (April 9, 2015) – The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation today announced that Steven Rice will join as Chief Human Resources Officer. Rice joins the foundation from Juniper Networks, where he most recently served as Executive Vice President of Human Resources.
“Steven brings more than 30 years of experience designing innovative human resource strategies for global organizations,” said Leigh Morgan, Chief Operating Officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. “He will lead our efforts to attract, develop and retain an engaged and diverse workforce dedicated to advancing the work of the foundation.”
While at Juniper Networks, Rice was also chair of the Juniper Networks Foundation Fund, which seeks to improve the lives of children through investments in science, technology, engineering and math education, and invests in scholarships for emerging engineering leaders, technology in rural communities, and anti-human trafficking efforts. Prior to joining Juniper, Steven was Vice President of Human Resources and Global Operations at Hewlett-Packard.
Rice will assume his new position on July 6, 2015 and will be based in Seattle.
