World Affairs Council Receives Grant to Establish Event Series - Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
Nicholas Kristof, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and author, to be kickoff speaker
SEATTLE -- The World Affairs Council of Seattle announces that it will expand its community educational programming about global health and development issues with support from a three-year, $300,000 grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The new event series will offer members of the greater Puget Sound community, including academics, business people, journalists, young professionals, students, and teachers more opportunities to deepen their understanding of pressing global health and development issues. In addition to fostering active audience involvement with these issues, the World Affairs Council's events will increase visibility of groundbreaking global health and development work taking place in our region.
