Gates Philanthropy Partners

Gates Philanthropy Partners (GPP) is a 501(c)(3) public charity that offers donors the opportunity to give—alongside the foundation and at any amount—to improve the lives of the world’s poorest by advancing progress in global health, development, and U.S. education.

Donors’ gifts are aligned with the mission of the Gates Foundation. Grants made by GPP are guided by the foundation’s program strategies and are directed to projects where additional funding can accelerate progress on issues of inequity for all people around the world.

As the Gates Foundation, we strive to inspire people to take action to change the world. Bill and Melinda created GPP in response to the more than $32 million in unsolicited donations the foundation has received since 2000. The stories of those who have given in support of our extraordinary grantees—from elementary school students to newlyweds to those who have left the foundation in their wills—have touched Bill and Melinda and inspired the formation of GPP.

How to Give

GPP honors the intentions of generous donors, and the work of the Gates Foundation’s grantees and partners, to help people around the world live healthy, productive lives. While we prefer and actively encourage donors to give directly to our grantees, each year we receive unsolicited donations from people who trust the foundation and care about the same issues we do.
