Katie Simons, deputy director, Strategy, Planning and Management, works on strategy development, execution and portfolio management for the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene and Global Libraries teams.
Prior to the foundation in 2013, Katie served in a variety of leadership positions in business and non-profit sectors, including: Director of Brewed Coffee for Starbucks, project leader for the Boston Consulting Group, and Executive Director of the Talaris Institute (an early learning non-profit).
Early in her career, Katie lived and worked in Africa and was a Fulbright Scholar in Gabon.
Katie earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her Master’s in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School. Katie serves on the board of Thrive by Five, Washington State’s public private partnership for early learning.
