This School Works for Me: A Guide for America's Leaders

A Guide for Urban School Leaders This guide synthesizes lessons learned from some of the nation’s largest school districts: how to identify students at-risk of dropping out, provide a mix of school and program choices to get students back on track for a diploma, and manage the change process inherent in improving student achievement at scale. Using a combination of short narrative, charts, and graphs, the guide compresses extensive findings from school districts and their consulting partners into a set of clearly defined actions that courageous and committed school leaders should take.

The leadership guide provides a 30,000-foot overview of what’s needed to turn the dropout tide. It's part of a series that includes an implementation guide with instruction on how to accomplish six essential actions, and an analyst guide offering guidance on the data analysis needed to support decision-making along the way.
