The first steps toward achieving our goals for educational reform need to be taken early, before children enter kindergarten. More than half of the children in Washington state begin kindergarten without the skills they need to succeed, and many of those children never catch up.
In 2006, we helped create Thrive By Five, a public-private partnership that builds and supports affordable, high-quality early learning programs across the state. This video features the steps we’re taking in Washington to promote high-quality early learning.
