ShoreBank International Announces New Micro Savings Initiative

CHICAGO -- ShoreBank International (SBI) announced today that it has received a $5.5 million grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to develop and implement a new micro savings initiative for South Asia’s poor.

The innovative program is designed to address one of the biggest barriers facing the region’s poor – limited access to savings and deposit accounts.
