SAN FRANCISCO -- CompuMentor announced today a grant from The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for $2.4 million over three years to assist public libraries in sustaining public access computers (PAC) by identifying best practices in technical support and training libraries to use these methods. The grant for the “MaintainIT Project” addresses public libraries’ critical need to continually maintain and upgrade public computers for their patrons so they can reliably access free information available through technology.
