Libraries help bridge the digital divide.

The foundation, in collaboration with national civic organizations, published Toward Equality of Access, a report on the status of connectivity in public libraries. The report found that public libraries have helped close the digital divide by providing free computer access. This service has especially benefited certain socioeconomic groups that are less likely to have access at home or work. The report also revealed that many public libraries struggle to sustain information technology despite widespread awareness and support.
