The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has offices in the following locations:
Headquarters – Seattle, Washington
Seattle is home to our headquarters and the center for our work in
Global Health,
Global Development, and the
United States. We have a strong commitment to
Washington state and are building a
new campus across the street from the Seattle Center, scheduled to open spring 2011.
East Coast Office – Washington, D.C.
We opened the East Coast Office in 2001 to support our policy and advocacy activities and programs in the region.
Europe Office – London, United Kingdom
We opened a London office in 2010 to support our policy, advocacy, and communications activities in Europe. The Europe Office will liaise with grantees throughout Europe.
Avahan Initiative – New Delhi, India
The office in New Delhi primarily supports
Avahan, an initiative to reduce the spread of HIV in India. In July 2009, we increased our total commitment to Avahan from $258 million to $338 million.
China Office – Beijing, China
The China Office, opened in 2007, focuses primarily on our work related to
HIV/AIDS prevention.
