Explore examples of how science and innovation are applied to the global issue of sanitation and listen to Foundation Senior Program Officer in Water, Sanitation & Hygiene, Jan Willem Rosenboom offer insight into this challenge.   See and hear about amazing ideas and individuals from around the world who are working on this effort.

TEEN SUMMER WORKSHOPS

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Visitor Center will offer FREE week long workshops for middle and high school students that are interested in taking action and improving lives.             

*Registration has closed and both workshops are full.

July 22-26: Monday – Friday, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

TAKE ACTION: MAKE A BETTER WORLD - CLOSED

Are you interested in becoming a global citizen? Join this workshop to build your leadership skills while you learn how to make the world a better place. What individual, organization, company, non-profit or 'cause' will help make the world a better place?  Meet foundation staff and get introduced to organizations that are working on positive global change.  Explorations will relate to work in fighting poverty and increasing access to health.

Our culminating projects will be displayed at the Visitor Center, along with a closing reception.

August 12-16: Monday – Friday, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

SPEAK UP 4 SOCIAL CHANGE - CLOSED

How can you use your voice for the common good? Join this workshop to capture your passion for a better world and transform it into clear messages for many to hear. Fine tune your speaking and writing skills so you can use your influence to raise awareness about global issues.  Learn how to start a blog, tweet and more. During this session you will meet professionals and foundation staff who practice these skills daily. This workshop culminates in a “TED Talk” inspired presentation.
