Year-Long Program: Teens Take Action*
Age: Students entering 9th - 11th grade
Location: Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Visitor Center

Are you interested in connecting with others to create positive social change? Teens Take Action is a year-long program that empowers the next generation of change makers and equips them with the tools to make a difference. The program will begin with an intensive workshop in July and continues through the year with regular gatherings, learning sessions and service projects.

Teens will:

  • Learn about the work of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and its partners.
  • Apply skills needed to create and launch their own action projects.
  • Participate in volunteer opportunities and critical discussions with youth and adult leaders who are working on global and local issues.

Summer Workshop: Take Action*
Age: Students entering 6th - 8th grade
Location: Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Visitor Center

Are you a middle school student who wants to become a global citizen? Join the week-long, Take Action workshop to build your leadership skills, while you learn about important global issues. During the week, you will explore “causes” related to the work of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, both locally and globally. By week’s end you will complete a mini-work party, take a community field trip and design a final presentation that highlights the ways you envision giving back in the future. Families and staff will be invited to the presentation.
