One of the most poignant findings to come from the Civic Enterprises survey The Silent Epidemic is the regret dropouts felt in the years after they left school. Three-quarters said that if they had their lives to live over, they would stay in school. And how many more students who do graduate from high school will regret their lack of preparation when faced with the challenges of college, career, and life?

We must keep more students in school and make sure that while they are there they receive the high-quality education they deserve.
