New Book Identifies Common Elements of Success in Large Global Health Programs.

WASHINGTON -- “Success is possible in the battle against devastating diseases in developing countries.” That is the conclusion from a team of global health researchers in Washington, DC today as they launched Millions Saved: Proven Successes in Global Health. The book, a project of the What Works Working Group of the Center for Global Development, is the result of an 18-month study of more than a dozen, sustained, large-scale health success stories in poor countries.

The carefully documented case studies challenge the popular view that health problems in developing countries are so overwhelming that major improvements are all but impossible.
