World Malaria Day

April 25 is World Malaria Day, instituted last year by the World Health Organization to help increase awareness and understanding of a disease that continues to kill more than 1 million people—many of them African children—every year. Learn more about worldwide efforts to control malaria, the importance of global collaboration, and the great work being done to fight the disease.

Roll Back Malaria Partnership
To provide a coordinated global approach to fighting malaria, the Roll Back Malaria Partnership was launched in 1998 by the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the World Bank.
