Delivering Help to People in Need
New tools and strategies can improve global health only if they reach the people who need them. Then, they must be distributed efficiently and used effectively.

The foundation supports organizations that:

  • Advocate for better awareness of global health issues and access to health services
  • Improve collection and use of evidence for decision-making
  • Provide health services in local communities
  • Improve survival rates of children
  • Respond to emergencies

To learn more about our support of advocacy, community-based care, and emergency relief, please see the specific sections listed below.

Advocacy
Once a health intervention proves helpful, the job of ensuring that it reaches people who can benefit begins. The foundation supports efforts to raise awareness, promote leadership, and secure resources for advances in global health.

Community Health Solutions
Some solutions to global health problems require local action. The foundation provides grants to carry out locally developed, community-based programs related to our priority diseases and conditions.

Emergency Relief
Natural and man-made emergencies tend to affect the developing world more severely than developed countries. The foundation makes grants to international relief agencies that have a record of responding quickly and effectively to emergencies.
