Welcome to Our City
The Seattle area is a remarkable place — beautiful, diverse, and invigorating. With thriving communities in the arts, medicine, education, philanthropy, technology, and popular culture, our region is one of the best places in the nation to live and work.
Set on Puget Sound between two snow-covered mountain ranges, Seattle is perhaps best known for its close proximity to outdoor pursuits, including skiing, climbing, hiking, boating, camping, and cycling. But there's a lot going on in our urban settings, too. Seattle is home to internationally known opera, ballet, and theater companies, thriving film and music scenes, exciting art galleries and restaurants, and professional sports teams with enthusiastic fans.
Seattle is a great place to settle. It’s a city of vibrant neighborhoods, each with a distinct personality. Living here means choosing among family homes on quiet, tree-lined streets, urban high-rise apartments next to busy restaurants and nightclubs, or town homes within walking distance of our new Seattle Center campus, scheduled to open in 2010.
